What is Different about the John Manimas Write-in Campaign?

1)  We demand serious democratic election reforms right now; our focused position is that American Society will soon be destroyed by the two-party system because it is a manipulative method that maintains and protects minority rule.  In order to effectively address the pressing issues of our times we must have majority rule in a republican form of government as guaranteed in Article 4 Section 4 of the federal Constitution.

2)  The RDP is not a third party that seeks to win the votes of Democrats or Republicans. We seek to win new write-in votes from the 40% of eligible voters who usually do not vote.  Our focused campaign is to have those who expressed their dissatisfaction passively in the past by abstaining from voting to adopt a constructive strategy by casting an active protest vote against the two-party system and for real democracy by writing in the candidate's name, John Manimas.  This write-in vote is a clear statement of a demand for election reforms, specifically a new election system that enables multi-party sharing of power according to the will of all of the voters.  We demand election practices that include party coalitions between major and minor parties, rank-choice voting, and fusion voting.

3)  We demand obligatory voting as the minimal level of participation in self-government, justified by the Constitutional guarantee of a republican form of government similar to the obligation of every citizen to participate in jury duty in order to sustain the Constitutional promise of a trial by jury for any citizen accused of a crime.

4)  Our viewpoint is that the two-party system has resulted for at least the past 120 years not only in voter suppression but in effective political party suppression, obstructing any meaningful process whereby new political parties could compete for public support and evolve to earn more political power through a series of elections.

5)  Our viewpoint is that the American nobility has the same anti-democratic beliefs as the entrenched nobility of 18th century Europe who defended the right of royalty to rule arbitrarily by divine right and class superiority rather than by the rule of law.  The American nobility has used their financial power and influence to discredit democracy and the legitimate participation of all the people in self-government, and to consolidate their own power by diminishing and dismantling the power of the federal government to protect the public health and safety and equal rights through the rule of law.

6)  Our electoral goal is not to have the named candidate, John Manimas, win the 270 Presidential Electoral Votes in order to be selected as the next President, but to win a handful of electoral votes and trade those votes through a coalition with the Democratic Party for the specified election reform laws.  This means, to us, that those 40% who do not usually vote have a unique opportunity in 2020 to compel the retirement of the two-party system and the adoption of election reforms that will create a multi-party system where all factions that receive voter support win some power, proportional to the scope of that voter support.  This means we demand an end to the two-party system that treats elections like a game of monopoly and results in one celebrity sports team winning power and another celebrity sports team losing power, operating like an entertainment seesaw that removes the people from serious participation in self-government.

7)  The two-party system results in an endless, destructive process of forced, polarized debates on moral and social issues that do not really fall within the powers vested in the government by our federal and state constitutions.  It is good to have such public discussions, but it is extremely destructive to pretend that we want to address such personal and philosophical issues through the exercise of the government police power.  Our platform is based on the Four Lethal Flaws of the Two-Party System and the Seven Principles of the Real Democracy Party.
